PREPARE FOR RAMADAN

           DREAM DA’WAH NETWORK
                        PRESENTS:

              PREPARE FOR RAMADAN

Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,
Respectable brothers and Sisters in the Deen, you’re welcome to yet another series of our reminder and In shaa Allah we will be discussing about preparing for Ramadan. We all know we are in the month of Sha’ban and in a week time or so we will be in the blessed month of Ramadan and as we are making preparations in terms of what to eat we should also prepare our minds spiritually, mentally and emotionally for this blessed month.
Allah says in the holy qur’an:
“The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind and clear proof for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So, whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month  (of Ramadan, i.e. is present at his home), he must observe saum……” Q2V185
This verse clearly explains how important the blessed month of Ramadan is, for the sacred of all books (the Qur’an) was revealed to the prophet Muhammad in the month of Ramadan. Although all practices of worshipping are for Allah, in the above verse Allah singles out fasting because fasting cannot be practiced for the sake of showing off, as nobody except Allah can know whether one is fasting or not. Therefore fasting is a pure performance that cannot be blemished with hypocrisy. And as we are approaching Ramadan, we should try our possible best to abstain from that which diminishes one’s iman (faith) we should enjoin that which is good and forbid that which is wrong.  For our Ramadan to be accepted we must prepare ourselves and the best of preparation we can ever make is taqwa (being pious towards Allah).
Narrated Abu Hurairah : The prophet (peace be upon him) said :
“Whoever does not give up lying speech-false statements and acting on those (lies), and evil actions, then Allah is not in need of leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fast)”. [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
We should therefore know that we must not engage in actions that will render our fasting invalid, for a believer must seek to please Allah and not to ask for his anger. We are required to read the Qur’an a great deal in the month of Ramadan for it is highly rewarding, we should also give charity and reach out to the less privileged and Allah will put blessings in our wealth. Ramadan comes once in a year and that is why we are enjoined to make the best use of it while we still can because we never know which one will be our last. Let us for once drop our differences and come together during this blessed month, let’s make this Ramadan our turning point and seek forgiveness from Allah in whatever way we might have faulted for indeed Allah is the forgiver and He is ever ready to show mercy.
Allah says :
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (Zumar:38)

We use this medium to pray for our fellow Brothers and Sisters in the Deen who are currently facing persecution around the globe, may Allah ease their pain and admit them among the rightful ones. May Allah grant us goodness, bless our off springs and family and admit us all into Jannah for He is above all powerful.
May the blessings of Allah be upon the noblest of mankind (Muhammad) and his household up till the day of judgment.
Wassalamu alaykum waramatullahi wabarakatuhu
