Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,
Respectable Brothers and Sisters in Islam, tonight we're going to discuss extensively one part of the Hadith of our Noble prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
The Hadith is a qudsi Hadith and it has several parts and it discusses many concept but we're going to look into the part that says:
The Hadith was reported by Abu Dharr Al-Ghifaari and the Hadith could be found in Sahih Muslim but for Easier refference we can Check Imam Nawawi's Arba'eena Hadith, it's the 24th Hadith.
"....0 My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins. Therefore, seek forgiveness from Me and I will forgive you..."

"....0 My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins. Therefore, seek forgiveness from Me and I will forgive you..."
This part of the Hadith is talking about the concept of Istighfar (Seeking Forgiveness)
All humans are prone to commit sins. However, what distinguishes some sinners from others is the admission of committing the sin, the feeling that it was wrong and the want to ask Allah for forgiveness. This was made clear by the Prophet (peace be upon him) when he said,
"All humans are sinners. And the best sinners are those who repent much." (Abu-Dawud)
Allah has blessed us in many ways, some he has given wealth, riches, offsprings and some he chooses not to give. But as human beings we tend to do things that are in appropriate sometimes and when those things are done, the best thing we can ever do is to seek forgiveness from Allah.
However, Allah makes it clear that no one should ever despair of Allah's mercy and forgiveness. The door to repentance and forgiveness is always open as long as the person is still alive and the pangs of death have not reached him. Allah says :

Say: 0 My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by committing sins], despair not of the Mercy of Allah. Verily, Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful" (al-Zumar 53).
Shaykh Bn Uthaymeen (May Allah be pleased with him ) said:
seeking forgiveness is not simply a matter of a person saying, "O Allah, forgive me." Instead, it must be accompanied by a sincere repentance.
And according to Shaykh Uthaymeen there are five conditions in order for an act of repentance to be sound. They are :-
1-The act of repentance must be done solely for the sake of Allah and with sincere intention
2-The person must feel remorse for the sins he has committed. Prophet was reported to have said "Remorse is the through essensce of repentance" (Imam Ahmad)
3-The repenting person must stop committing sins and must never go back to the sins earlier committed.
Allah says regarding those who repent :
"And those who when they have committed illegal sexual intercourse or wronged themselves with evil remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins-and none can forgive sins except Allah--and do not persist in what [wrong] they have done, while they know" (ali-Imraan 135).
4-The person must be determined not to go back to the sin again even if he had the opportunity of going back to it. He must restrain himself from the sin totally
5- Repentance must be made before it is too late not until the pangs of death are about to reach him. Allah says :

5- Repentance must be made before it is too late not until the pangs of death are about to reach him. Allah says :
And of no effect is the repentance of those who continue to do evil deeds until death faces one of them and he says, 'Now, I repent,' nor for those who die while they are unbelievers. For them We have prepared a painful torment" (alNisaa 18).
Every sinner should turn back to Allah in Repentance, instead of feeling despair we should remember that the door of Allah is always open and he will grant us Mercy and Forgiveness. We have a good example from Nabiyyuna Adam (Alayhi Salam) he sinned against Allah and he turn immediately for Forgiveness, he repented and Allah grant him Forgiveness. Allah says :

Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went astray. Then his Lord chose him, and turned to him with forgiveness, and gave him guidance" (Taha 121-122).
Oh! My respectable brothers and sisters in the Deen, I call you with the word of Allah which says :
Oh! My respectable brothers and sisters in the Deen, I call you with the word of Allah which says :
ففروا الي الله اني لكم منه نذير مبين
Hasten ye then (at once) to Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open!
51-Dhariyat : 50
Let us have it in mind that no matter how much we've faulted, we should ever remember that Allah is ever ready to show Mercy, let us make tonight as our turning points, let's turn back to Allah before it is too late And Allah will grant us Forgiveness..
I'll end my speech by relating what happened in the time of Imam Ahmad Bn Hanbal
A man came to Imam Ahmad Bn Hanbal with the following verses of poem:

A man came to Imam Ahmad Bn Hanbal with the following verses of poem:
اذا ما قال لي ربي أما استحييت تعصيني#و تخفى الذنب عن خلقى وبالعصيان تاتيني
If My Lord asks me 'Have you shyness in disobeying me?
You conceal your sins from my creation and with sins you come to me
So how will I answer? O 'woe to me and who shall protect me?
I keep averting my soul with thoughts of hope from time to time
And I forget what is to come after I'm shrouded
As if I am guaranteed life (eternally) and that death will not come to me.
If My Lord asks me 'Have you shyness in disobeying me?
You conceal your sins from my creation and with sins you come to me
So how will I answer? O 'woe to me and who shall protect me?
I keep averting my soul with thoughts of hope from time to time

As if I am guaranteed life (eternally) and that death will not come to me.
The poem is a bit long but this is just an extract,Imam Ahmad broke into tears after listening to the man..
May Allah in his Infinite Mercy grant us Goodness, May He forgive our shortcomings and May he accept our acts of worship.
If All this are found useful it is from Allah and His messenger but if otherwise it is from my own self and shaytaan.
Wasalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu.
